Driving in Stockport
Stockport has a bit of everything. The A6 is one of the borough's busiest roads, with traffic lights, bus stops and junctions one after another, the town centre is busy and compact, and the M60 runs right through it. Head east towards Marple and Romiley and the roads turn hilly and narrow, with country-road bends. Cheadle, Bramhall and Heaton Moor give you calmer residential streets to start on.
Your test in Stockport
The Stockport borough has its own practical driving test centre at Bredbury, and West Didsbury in Manchester is close to the west of the borough.
Before the day, your instructor gives you a mock test around your test centre, marked like the real one, so nothing about the format is new. We don't teach routes, which DVSA doesn't publish and which change. We teach you to handle any road the examiner picks. Find a test centre on GOV.UK.
