Driving in Wigan
The Wigan borough is big and varied. Wigan town centre has busy junctions and one-way streets, the M6 runs down the west of the borough, and the East Lancs Road (A580) crosses the south near Leigh. Between the towns there are faster country roads, and Standish, Orrell and Hindley have quieter streets for your first lessons.
Your test in Wigan
The Wigan borough has its own practical driving test centre at Atherton, and Bolton is close by too.
Before your test you'll do a mock test on the roads around your test centre, run and marked the way an examiner would. But you won't be learning a route: DVSA doesn't publish them, and they change. We get you driving well anywhere, which is what the examiner is really looking for. Find a test centre on GOV.UK.
